Automated social media posting
Prepare promotional posts from approved products, offers or menu items, route them for human approval, then schedule publication through supported platform integrations.

- Suits
- Small to medium businesses posting promotions weekly, without a dedicated marketing role

- Automation, Retail, Restaurant, General business
The problem
A retailer or restaurant manually creates and publishes similar promotions across Facebook and Instagram. The content is much the same each week, but somebody has to rewrite it, find an image, and remember to post at a sensible time. During a busy week, it simply does not happen.
How the work is usually done today
- A staff member decides what to promote, usually at short notice
- Copy is written from scratch each time, often on a phone
- An image is found or photographed and resized
- The post is published manually to Facebook
- The same content is re-entered into Instagram
- Nobody records what was posted, so promotions are repeated or forgotten
The ByteX approach
Create a controlled workflow that reads approved promotions, products, offers or menu updates from a managed source, prepares post content in your voice, sends it to a nominated person for approval, and schedules publication through supported platform integrations. What can be published directly, and what has to be handed to a person, is determined by what your accounts and the platform actually permit.
Example workflow
-
Approved source
Promotions, products or menu items are maintained in one managed list, with the fields the post needs: name, offer, dates, image and any required disclaimer.
-
Content preparation
The workflow builds draft post content for each scheduled slot from that source, following an agreed tone and format.
-
Human approval
A nominated person receives the queued drafts, edits anything that needs changing, and approves or rejects each one.
-
Scheduling
Approved posts are scheduled for the agreed times through supported platform integrations, or handed to a person where direct publishing is not permitted.
-
Record and review
Every prepared, approved and published item is logged, so the business can see what actually went out and when.
Potential systems
What may be involved
Indicative only. What is actually possible depends on your platforms, subscription tiers and each vendor's integration terms.
- Meta business tooling for Facebook and Instagram, subject to account eligibility and permissions
- Microsoft 365, SharePoint Lists or Dataverse as the approved content source
- Power Automate or Azure Functions for orchestration
- A scheduling platform where direct API publishing is not available
- Image storage in SharePoint, OneDrive or a media library
Expected outcomes
What tends to improve
Operational outcomes rather than percentage claims. ByteX does not publish savings figures it has not measured in your business.
- More consistent posting, because content is prepared ahead of the busy period rather than during it
- Less repeated administration for staff who are already stretched
- A documented approval process, so pricing and claims are checked before publication
- A record of what was promoted and when, which makes the next campaign easier to plan
- Direct automated publishing to Facebook and Instagram is not universally available. It depends on account type, business verification, app permissions and current platform policy, all of which can change.
- Where direct publishing is not permitted for your account, the workflow prepares and schedules content for a person to publish. That still removes most of the work, but it is not unattended posting and will not be described as such.
- Promotional and price-sensitive content should have human approval. The workflow is designed that way deliberately rather than as a limitation to be removed later.
- Platform API changes can affect a working integration. Continued operation depends on an agreed maintenance arrangement.
Security and privacy considerations
- Platform access uses the minimum permissions required to perform the agreed actions, granted through the official authorisation flow.
- Access tokens are stored in a secrets store or key vault, never in source control or a spreadsheet.
- The approval record identifies who approved each post, which matters if a claim or price is later disputed.
- No customer personal information is used in promotional content preparation.
