Who this service is for

  • Restaurants, cafes and takeaway businesses
  • Venues with more than one location or more than one menu
  • Owners who are still preparing their own sales reports
  • Venues whose printed and online menus have drifted out of step
  • Businesses that want consistent social posting without adding a marketing role

Common problems it addresses

  • Menu prices differ between the website, the printed menu and the delivery platforms
  • Nobody posts on social media during a busy week
  • The owner waits days for a usable view of sales
  • Staff answer the same questions about hours, parking and bookings all day
  • Online ordering, bookings and the website are three unrelated systems
  • Review responses are written late or not at all

Capabilities

What this service covers

  • Restaurant and cafe websites Fast, mobile-first sites that load quickly on a phone outside the venue and make the important information immediately visible.
  • Online menu presentation A structured menu with categories, dietary markers and pricing that is edited in one place.
  • QR-code menus Printable QR codes pointing at a responsive digital menu, so a price change does not require a reprint.
  • Booking-system integration Connect or embed a supported booking platform so enquiries and reservations do not arrive by three different routes.
  • Online-ordering links or integrations Link or integrate supported ordering platforms, depending on what each provider allows.
  • Restaurant POS workflow assessment Review how the POS is configured and used, and where reporting or menu structure is working against you.
  • Menu and pricing workflows Define an approved source for menu content, then publish changes out to supported destinations.
  • Automated promotional-post workflows Prepare scheduled promotional content from approved items and offers, with a human approval step before publishing.
  • Daily sales reporting Collect supported POS exports or API data and send a plain-language daily summary.
  • Review-response drafting Generate suggested responses to reviews from approved tone and policy guidance, for a person to edit and post.
  • Customer FAQ assistants A scoped assistant answering common questions from approved venue information, with clear escalation to staff.
  • Loyalty and customer database integration Assess and connect supported loyalty and customer platforms where their APIs allow.
  • Accounting export workflows Prepare and deliver sales and takings data into the format your accounting process expects.
  • Multi-location reporting Compare venues on consistent measures rather than three differently built spreadsheets.

Practical use cases

What this looks like in a working business

Each use case describes the problem, the approach and the limits, so you can judge whether it matches your situation before you get in touch.

Menu update workflow

Business problem
Menu items and prices must be changed separately on the website, the digital menu, the POS and promotional channels.
ByteX approach
Create a structured menu source with the fields each destination needs, then publish approved changes to supported platforms from that one place.
Expected outcome
Fewer inconsistent prices between the website, the venue and online listings

Automated daily sales summary

Business problem
The owner waits for staff to manually prepare sales reports, or logs into the POS back office and interprets the numbers themselves each morning.
ByteX approach
Collect supported POS exports or API data automatically, calculate the agreed measures, and email a plain-language daily summary with comparisons that are actually useful, such as the same day last week and month to date.
Expected outcome
Faster visibility over trading performance, available before the venue opens

Restaurant promotional-post workflow

Business problem
Restaurants post inconsistently because staff are busy during service hours.
ByteX approach
Prepare a promotional schedule ahead of time using approved menu items, events and offers, with drafts generated in the venue voice and a nominated person approving each one before it publishes.
Expected outcome
More consistent marketing without removing business oversight

Digital menu and QR experience

Business problem
Printed menus become outdated as soon as a price or supplier changes, and customers cannot easily view current information before they arrive.
ByteX approach
Build a responsive digital menu from the structured menu source, with controlled content management and printable QR codes.
Expected outcome
Easier updates, because a price change takes seconds and costs nothing

Restaurant customer FAQ assistant

Business problem
Staff repeatedly answer questions about opening hours, location, parking, bookings, menu options and policies, often during service.
ByteX approach
Deploy a carefully scoped assistant using approved venue information, answering the predictable questions accurately and escalating anything outside its scope to staff.
Expected outcome
Faster answers to common questions, including outside trading hours

Typical systems

Platforms this work usually touches

This is an indicative list, not a guarantee of integration. What is achievable with any given platform depends on your subscription, the available API and the vendor's terms, and is confirmed during the review stage.

  • Hospitality POS platforms with an API or scheduled export
  • Booking and reservation platforms
  • Online ordering and delivery platforms
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram) business tooling, subject to permissions
  • Google Business Profile
  • Microsoft 365 and the Power Platform
  • Xero, MYOB and other accounting platforms
  • Email and SMS providers

Delivery process

How a project runs

  1. Understand

We talk through the business problem and how the work is done today — who touches it, how often, and where it goes wrong. No obligation to proceed.

  2. Review

We identify the systems involved, confirm what their APIs and permissions actually allow, and set out requirements, risks and options. Some ideas are ruled out at this stage, and that is a useful outcome.

  3. Build

We configure or develop the agreed solution against a written scope, with validation, logging and error handling built in rather than added later.

  4. Improve

We test with your data, document how it works, hand over to your team, and agree what planned improvements or maintenance make sense.

Important limitations

What to know before you commit

These constraints are stated up front because finding them out midway through a project is expensive for everybody.

  • Delivery and ordering platforms vary widely in what they allow third parties to do. Some offer a full API, some offer only a link-out, and some prohibit integration under their terms. This is checked per platform before anything is promised.
  • Automated posting to Facebook and Instagram depends on account eligibility, app permissions and current platform policy. Where direct publishing is not permitted for your account, the workflow prepares and schedules content for a person to publish.
  • An AI assistant must not give definitive allergen, medical or dietary-safety guarantees. Assistants are scoped to direct those questions to staff.
  • ByteX provides scheduled, project-based work. It does not provide emergency support during service hours.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can you connect our website to our online ordering provider?

In most cases the website can link out cleanly, and in some cases a deeper integration is possible. Which one applies depends on what your ordering provider exposes and permits, and that is confirmed before the work is scoped.

Can the daily sales summary come from our POS automatically?

If your POS provides an API or a reliable scheduled export, yes. If it only offers a manual download, the workflow can still process that file once it is placed in an agreed location, which removes the spreadsheet work even if the extract is still manual.

Will the social workflow post without us seeing it first?

Not by default. Promotional content is prepared and queued, and a nominated person approves it before it publishes. That keeps the venue in control of tone, pricing accuracy and timing.

Can a chatbot tell customers whether a dish is gluten free?

It can repeat what your approved menu information states, and it is scoped to tell the customer to confirm with staff. It will not be configured to give allergen or dietary safety assurances, because getting that wrong has real consequences.

Automated social media posting

Business problem
A retailer or restaurant manually creates and publishes similar promotions across Facebook and Instagram.
ByteX approach
Create a controlled workflow that reads approved promotions, products, offers or menu updates from a managed source, prepares post content in your voice, sends it to a nominated person for approval, and schedules publication through supported platform integrations.
Expected outcome
More consistent posting, because content is prepared ahead of the busy period rather than during it
