The problem

Customers can select pickup at checkout, but store allocation and order information are unclear once the order arrives. Staff are unsure which location should prepare the order, whether the stock is actually there, and when the customer was told it would be ready.

How the work is usually done today

  1. A pickup order arrives in the general order queue
  2. Someone works out which store it belongs to, sometimes from the customer address
  3. The store is telephoned or emailed to check stock
